When I got home last night I recieved an e-mail. Instead of telling me how I could "make $$$'s" or "lose pounds!!!" it was finally inviting me to take part on Eve-Online Beta testing.
Eve-Online is a new game in development at the moment and it is in Beta testing as we speak.
I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement at the time so I can't say a great deal more about the gameexcept to say it is the most visually stunning game I have ever seen. Remember the first time you saw Solid Snake leave footprints in the snow, or the first time you powered round a bend in a Dodge Viper withthe arse hanging out on GT3? It's like that. Really honestly gob-smackingly beautiful.
Go HERE to see more. Check out the screenshots, go "oooooh" and "aaaaah" and then sign up.

Some nice, but strange pictures at Exploding dog. I like them. Mostly.
I manage finally to fit my shiny new 120 GB hard drive. Hmmmm, now I can fill my machine up with junk and never have to tidy it up! MUWHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!
Sorry, (cough) ahem. OK, what else? Not much really. Mother's Day on Sunday and I sooo haven't got a card yet.
Scaryduck describes his school days cross-country runs here which will bring a cringe/smile to all those of us 30 or over (I bet they don't have to do that nowadays you know).
OOOH OOOH Mr Peevely! I'm reading The Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams. It's a collection of letters and articles and then the first 10 or so chapters of the book he was writing when he died suddenly.
It's really with mixed feelings I'm making my way through this book. It’s funny, and thought-provoking, but few other authors shaped my reading habits in my early teens like Adams. I remember reading HHGTTG when I was around 11 or 12 and being hooked straight away. Put it this was, the release of Life, The Universe and Everything was a major event in my teenage years. When I was 12 I was determined to change my name to Hotblack Desiato just as soon as the Deed Poll people would return my calls.
I never got into The Meaning of Liff, although I have read it and find it funny, but his book with Mark Caradine, Last Chance To See was a real eye-opener. I urge you to visit your local library and try to borrow at least some of these books. Your life can only be richer by doing so.
Finally from Douglas Adams on why don't more people live in Australia.
The weather in Perth today is fine with a max of 30 degrees.
There's a bridge in Sturminster Newton in Dorset. It still has on it a cast-iron notice that warns anyone thinking of damaging or defacing the bridge in anyway that the penalty is transportation. To Australia.
Now, Sturminster Newton is a lovely town, but it astonishes me that the bridge is still standing...
OK, well, I've really brought myself down now... :-(
Go check out those pictures in the link at the top, they really are good. Makes you want to pick up your pirated image manipulation software and GO CREATE!!!
